Full Picture Advisory was founded by Ivan Nelson to address a gap he saw growing inside organizations long before AI became unavoidable.
Over the course of his career, Ivan has led and advised media, communications, and creative operations inside complex organizations—where strategy, brand, technology, and governance routinely collide. He has worked at the intersection of storytelling and systems, helping leaders navigate change not as an abstract concept, but as something that shows up in real workflows, real risks, and real consequences.
That vantage point shaped a clear conviction: the most damaging decisions are rarely made recklessly. They are made incrementally, in silos, by well-intentioned teams responding to pressure without a shared view of the system they are shaping.
AI amplifies this dynamic.
Ivan founded Full Picture Advisory to help senior leaders step back before momentum hardens into structure—before tools become defaults, behaviors become expectations, and risks become embedded. His work focuses on decision integrity: helping organizations align ambition with accountability, and innovation with trust.
Ivan is known for bringing clarity to complexity without oversimplifying it. He does not advocate for faster adoption, bigger bets, or blanket caution. He helps leaders see tradeoffs clearly, understand second-order effects, and make choices they can stand behind as AI reshapes how organizations create, decide, and communicate.

Our Process
We work upstream of execution—at the point where decisions still have leverage.
Our role is not to implement tools, manage vendors, or accelerate production. It is to help senior leaders slow the right moments down, see across silos, and make decisions that will hold up as AI reshapes how work actually gets done.
We engage as advisors and thinking partners. That means asking uncomfortable questions early, surfacing second-order effects before they become problems, and helping leaders align ambition with governance, brand integrity, and operational reality.
Our work is deliberately cross-functional. AI does not respect org charts, so neither do we. We help marketing, communications, IT, legal, and creative leaders develop a shared understanding of what is changing, what is at risk, and where alignment is required.
The outcome is not a roadmap for AI adoption.
It is clarity about which decisions matter most—and the confidence to make them intentionally.
